"I dream that one day i'll have a child And that child will say to me 'dad, what was war?' But it's not going to happen" (The Streets)

I was thinking today about the perception of war. Someone on the National today said that the flag being lowered symbolizes something unique happening. And that it not being lowered means we as Canadians face a new reality.

I think often about Canada not joining the coalition forces in Iraq. It is a victory in my mind. Yet I know the reality does not mean we are not at war. It does not mean we are not killing or hating.

Is it better to name it or not name it?
