Is there meaning behind wearing a green tie? I hope so. If I could I would get myself a segment on the hour where i analyzed the outfits of the newsmakers of the day. And I would convince George to do that thing he did on Much once, you know where he kissed Nam but we wouldn't invite Nam. Speaking of which, is she still doing some NBA reporting or something? Anyway, back to budget day. The GST saves me maybe 100$. And that is if I buy the computer I want. It would save me more if I could buy a house. But there are way more financial barriers to that than 1% GST. I wouldn't begrudge people this savings if it weren't the feather in the cap of this budget. I don't actually think I use that saying often, and don't fret I don't plan to increase it's rotation. The cuts...speaking of which, did Graham totally screw up making some comment about the Conservatives over spending or was I hearing things? Anyway, (there was this little bit about the use of this word on 'What About Brian' last night sadly I love Barry Watson and that show for some inexplicable reason.) The Arts and Environment, no big surprises there. We have heard forever about the death of Kyoto and this illusive made in Canada plan. Sure Kyoto was flawed but at least it was a statement and a hope. And the Arts we hear nothing about like it doesn't even matter. But the bigger shock to me is the total decimation of the Kelowna Accord, and was the explanation really that they are going through with the Residential Schools settlement because that doesn't help it just meekly recognizes a grave error. |
